Our shiny, new space is built out and ready to go. Thanks to Patrick and Dizz from from 229 Construction for helping us transform a dusty, grungy, seven-room used furniture store into the inspiring and awesome gym that it is today. Words can't really describe the "coolness" of the space that is CrossFit Catacombs, but we know that you will agree when you walk through the doors and take it in for the first time. In keeping with the garage gym roots of CrossFit, the concrete floors and cinder block walls remind you that this is not your average globo gym. Real fitness will be made here. Materials from the demolition of walls and storage spaces were reused to keep our environmental impact to a minimum and retain the original feel of the space. Yet the new bathrooms, changing rooms, and shower allow you the convenience to make Catacombs a part of your daily routine.
Additional shout outs to the team that made the Catacombs incredible: graffiti artists, Brian, Ralph, and Brandon for the inspiring art on the walls (more on this coming soon); plumber, Eric Jellison for sweet bathrooms and plumbing that works; electrician, Mark Shelton for getting the space to code and for making existing fixtures work; painter, Eric Kalk from Precision Painting LLC for creating a clean and crisp feel; and Concrete Works for finding our sewer, and leveling and treating the floors. We'd recommend using any of these folks for their quality of workmanship and their responsiveness. It was a true pleasure to work with them all!
We will be opening to the public on May 1st. Check back frequently for news and updates on our progress!
