Not Afraid to Fail

Congrats to all of you that hit your first bar muscle ups as part of the Open and the programming around it. I am so stoked for each and everyone of you. Whether you are just starting with jumping muscle ups, hit your first one with a band, or finally put it all together with legit muscle ups, you all put yourself out there and were unafraid to fail. If you haven't figured it out yet, that is the secret sauce to learning new movements and improving in CrossFit (and in life, as it turns out). I take great pride in watching nervous and anxious athletes attempt new skills for the first time. Why? Because it means that you feel safe within our walls and know that there is no judgement here around trying and failing. We see failure as a stepping to stone to mastery. Ego is your enemy when it comes to growth. Pretty much the only thing we judge around here is failing to give it your best effort...and of course cheating.

Here's a little video from the mainsite to get you working on those ring muscle ups next. You might recognize the demo athlete in the video as our guest coach from January, Nicole. Relentlessly work the progression, and the rewards will come.
