All smiles after running her first ever mile. So much respect for the work that Beth puts in 4 days per week at 5:30 AM.

Fingers crossed, but it sure feels like springtime outside. Just a quick post to let you know of a couple of upcoming events and schedule modifications. But first…

I was humbled and reminded of the origin of Catacombs this week as one of our members accomplished a goal that had to seem audacious last July when she joined Catacombs. Beth C ran the entire mile in Wednesday’s workout with her best support buddy Pink. Beth has lost dozens of pounds and gritted out workout after workout after workout—never getting discouraged by having to modify and always cheerfully embracing the journey of transformation. She has persevered when progress was slow. She just kept showing up when faced with setbacks. Not only was I incredibly impressed by this milestone, but I was equally touched by the genuine outpouring of admiration and support by the entire 5:30 crew as we’ve witnessed Beth climbing this mountain. Congratulations Beth. You inspire me.

And now, back to our programming updates…

Mobility on Wednesdays is now Yoga Flow and Go. The. 7:30 AM time slot will feature a 45 minute yoga flow class taught by our very own Heather Hooten. Bring your own mat and enjoy this addition to the morning schedule. This change is effective immediately.

Swim WODs with Suz are back! The first one for the summer is scheduled for May 14th. Come get your fitness on with a workout incorporating swimming. Suz is amazing, but you do need to be able to swim to join the swim WOD. Sign up will be available in ZP soon.

Teens on break until summer. The teens program is taking a break with most kids playing spring sports or running or riding. We will be back bigger and better this summer in collaboration with the Hive. Stay tuned for details on programming and sign up.

Comp Team Training. Coach KMac (and sidekick Dennis) are kicking off a new block of Competitors Training in May and June. The program will include additional programming for strength, olympic lifting, and skill work as well as strategy/technique for weekly workouts and Comp Team Throwdowns. Details and pricing coming soon.

Memorial Day Murph and Catacombs Community Picnic. This is a staple in our calendar where we honor our members who served in the Armed Forces and pay homage to those who lost their lives in the defense of our country. We will run heats of Murph then cook some burgers and hot dogs and spend some time with our community. Cornhole or spikeball anyone?

Expanded Open Gym Time. We are now offering expanded open gym times on Monday - Friday from 1-6pm. The indoor and outdoor space are open for use. As a reminder, please be respectful of private training sessions as they have priority. Please sign up in advance and check in with a coach upon arrival for Open Gym.
