Another Catacombs Games Season is in the books. The energy, camaraderie and support brought by all during the Games Season never ceases to amaze me. We have come a long way from the beginning when Dustin and I would scratch our heads on Thursday nights trying to figure out how to make what HQ threw out work in our tiny space with our fledgling athletes. The events are bigger now and the festivities a bit rowdier. We have so much more help both in staff and volunteers. But I am still incredibly proud that we can pull off 5 straight Friday nights of community driven fun. It is all possible because of you.

An enormous thank you goes out to all of the following:

  • The entire coaching staff-- for the countless hours spent planning the logistics and obsessing over the details every week to make this event a WIN for all of our athletes. The best part is that you all love doing it and bring an attitude of "getting to do this" instead of it being a burden. You are selfless and the best team I can imagine.
  • Team Captains-- for bringing the energy and spirit (and food!) that make Catacombs the most happening place in town for 5 Fridays in a row. You have given selflessly of your time and relentlessly rallied your teams. You embody the spirit of Catacombs and none of this would be possible without you. This year’s team captains include Bill and Erika Luthy, Trapper and Bethany Niccum, Mike McCormick and Jen Hargrove, and K-Mac (Kelsey McDonald) and John MacDonald). Many thank to this crew.
  • You, the Community of Catacombs--You guys make this event SO MUCH FUN. Thank you for carving out the time in your busy schedules, cheering on your fellow athletes, and being the fiber of what makes this place so special. We are honored that you make Catacombs a priority.

I am very proud of our competitive athletes for their accomplishments throughout the Games. You inspire all of us to be the best versions of ourselves. But I am even more inspired by those of you that put yourselves out there to see what you could do and faced down the fears of not being strong enough, fit enough, or skilled enough. You embody everything that we are trying to create at Catacombs and I commend you for your courage to give it your best in spite of your own self doubt.
