Catacombs Family—

The time has come to do the right thing for the common good. While I had hoped to keep our doors open through this crisis, I now believe that we must do our part to aid in the social distancing efforts to prevent or slow the spread of COVID-19.  It is simply the only right thing to do. I've been in contact with San Juan Basin Health and while they will not require us to close, it is clear that continuing to promote the gathering of groups and physical contact within the gym puts people at risk. That is unconscionable to me.

We are implementing a 2-week cancellation of group classes effective Monday, March 16th through March 29th.

The only argument that can be made for staying open right now is an economic one. While compelling, that has never been the compass that guided us and we will not change course now. If we are honest, it is impossible to prevent transmission in an environment such as the gym no matter how hard we try. As such, I believe it is our obligation to be part of the solution and proactively close our doors to group workouts.

We have already begun to ramp up our online and outdoor offerings and we will continue to offer private training on a limited basis. While I won’t pretend that this can replace group classes, we are committed to keeping your fitness on track and our community connected. It is our lifeblood and our top priority . Daily workouts complete with video instruction, movement standards, and even the Joke of the Day will be posted in SugarWOD just like always. Our coaching staff will shift from coaching you in person to coaching you via video. We will monitor progress and hold you accountable through SugarWOD, our Facebook group, email, text, and phone. Need a modification? Just ask. We’ve got that too.

If you still want to see you friends in person, we will begin limited, no equipment or contact outdoor workouts on Monday at 6 AM, Noon, and 6 PM. Additional days, times, and locations will be posted in our Facebook group and in SugarWOD. There are limitless options and we intend to use this as an opportunity to further broaden the fitness of our members.

We appreciate not just your understanding but also your continued support. We are committed to working harder than ever to keep your fitness on track and earn your continued financial support.

Stay strong family. We are all in this together.
