Soon that door will be cracked wide open!

Catacombs Family—

I cannot thank you enough for your patience and support as we have worked through the improvement of our outdoor space. I know things have been a little tight and sometimes inconvenient, but as always, we worked together and made the best of it. We are far from finished, but the majority of the concrete work is done and that is the most disruptive piece of the project. It only gets better from here!

New Year’s Challenge—It’s Coming!

January 1 is coming. Fast. We don’t believe in quick fixes or magical results, but we do believe in fresh starts and habit change. Our coaching staff is working hard on the Healthy Habits Challenge which will kick off in January. While I love a good New Year’’s Resolution, the research shows that they just don’t last. If you want to change something about your lifestyle or your habits, it requires a lot more than a resolution. We are committed to providing the framework, coaching, and accountability to improve your habits and make changes that last. We are still working on the details, but expect to focus on sleep, hydration, daily movement (workout), mindfulness, and of course, NUTRITION. This challenge will require a lot more commitment than Slay the Season, but if you are ready to do the work, we will be with you every step of the way.

Speaking of challenges, you guys have been CRUSHING the Slay the Season challenge. I love the spirit of community and fun that this challenge has brought. Remember that the point of the challenge is to KEEP MOVING through the holiday season and prioritize getting exercise. I don’t have to tell you guys how important it is for not just your physical health but your mental health. KEEP GOING.

Membership Update for 2022

Beginning in January, we are changing the way we bring new athletes into Catacombs. As we have grown, we have noticed that it is harder to give every athlete in every class the attention that you deserve. Some of this is due to bigger classes and some of it is due to a wide range of experience and ability in each class. We need to do it better—and we will.

Athletes beginning their journey at Catacombs will start with 4 private training sessions as they do now. Instead of moving directly into group class, they will continue to work with their coach outside of class for the first 3 months through a Performance Membership. This will help our new members bridge the gap to group class with some added consistency and accountability which we all know are the keys to making changes stick. It will also allow them to be more prepared coming into class and allow the group class coach to more evenly spread their focus across the whole class.

Accomplishments

Your coaches are doing amazing things. Coach Brian crushed Ironman Arizona in November. It has been so inspiring to watch him commit to this goal, follow his training plan relentlessly, and accomplish something that seemed unthinkable. We are SO PROUD of you Brian.

And Coach KMac has been training with a vengeance for the Legends Championship competition in San Diego next weekend. She models for all of us how to commit to the details and the process of being the best athlete we can be. We are so proud to have you represent us KMac!
